What is whaling?
Whaling is the practice or industry of hunting and killing whales for their oil, meat, or whalebone. The oil is found from the blubber of whales, mainly from the Right Whale and the Bowhead Whale. Whale meat is considered food among a variety of places, it is even served in school cafeterias in Japan. The whalebone it self is used in brushes, umbrellas, dressmaking, and other items consisting of elasticity. Whaling occurs within the costal waters of Russia, Europe, and North America but mainly Japan and Norway.Whaling has occured for many years, it started in the 17th century. It is more of a problem today than it was back then.
