There are many possible solutions that could be looked upon for the problem of whaling. Substitutes for whaling products are available so it is pointless to hurt an innocent creature when there are other options out there.
The best solution by far, for the animal's, human's, and environment's sake, would be to ban commercial whaling all together. The IWC (International Whaling Commission) would have to act now and make this ban permanant all throughout the world, not just Japan.

Another solution to whaling is to reduce the amount of whaling by at least fifty percent. This would very much help any endangered species that are being hunted and it would help the banning process become easier in the future.
A solution that would help whales extremely, is advertisement. If people knew more of what was going on, it would cause more action in support of anti-whaling. This would educate those in Japan what their 'whalers sanctuary' is really up to inside the Japanese Government. If people knew that whaling is occuring for no reasonable reason, then it would cause more of an outcome. IWC and people who are informed of whaling need to make this issue more public.

What is your opinion?
I have interviewed an adult to see just one opinion on the issue of whaling. This opinion may be agreeable to many but opposing to others. This person is the one who inspired me to go deeper into the topic of whaling. She believes that whaling is completely wrong and highly important. She has actually seen whales in person and says it is an "experience of a lifetime". They are creatures who have emotionally bond feelings and are seen to be very spirtual. Someone once said, "Once you look into the eyes of a whale, your whole world changes.", and the person I interviewed happens to agree with that. She says that they are massive but gental giants who do not deserve to be mistreated and taken advantage of. Whaling messes with the ecosystem of the ocean. Taking a dynamic animal out of that ecosystem changes the whole environment. The importance the whales have in the ocean and their size puts things into perspective that they have been here a lot longer than us and we should not be able to take away their world. I agree one hundred percent with my interviewee and I hope many people will too.
